ESTABLISHING DUTIES AND SALARIES OF AUDITOR AND
TREASURER
WHEREAS, at the Special Election of the City of Alameda
held on November 4, 1980, Measure A, which provided for specific
qualifications and duties of an elected Auditor and an elected
Treasurer, was ratified by a majority of the qualified voters
of the City of Alameda; and
EREAS, i:n order to clarify the functional responsibil-
ities of the positions of Auditor and Treasurer;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF, THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that,
in addition to the City Charter prescribed responsibilities, the
following duties are hereby - established for the positions of
Auditor and Treasurers
AUDITOR
1. Ensure that the quarter 7.y cash count is duly performed
and a report submitted to Council. The audit may be performed
by this individual or contracted for by an outside firm
2. Ensure that an annual audit of the City's books and
records is performed and appropriate reports and schedules filed.
3. May review the procedures used in the Finance Depart-
ment for purposes of evaluating adequacy of internal controls.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the salary for,the position of
Auditor is hereby established at $3,600 annually.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the
Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled
on the 16th day of December, 198O` by the following vote, to wit:

President Corica - 5.
