AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO EXPEND UP TO $20,000
FOR PURCHASE OF MATERIALS FOR THE RAILING ON THE
BAY FARM ISLAND (SAN'LEANDRO BAY BRIDGE)
AS, on December 16, 1980, this Council authorized
execution of- a Letter of Understanding with the State of Califor-
nia Department of Transportation :(CALTRANS DISTRICT 4) for the
erection and maintenance of a pedestrian railing along the
existing sidewalk on the San Leandro Bay Bridge, and
WHEREAS, said Letter of Understanding provides that the
City supply all material required to complete the pedestrian
railing and the State shall accept the material from the City and
erect said railing, and
WHEREAS, formal bidding procedures for the needed mate
would greatly increase the time required to complete said :raj
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the City Manager is hereby authorized to expend
up to $20,000 for purchase of materials required to complete the
pedestrian railing on the Bay Farm Island Bridge (San Leandro
Bay Bridge).
' I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the
Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled
on the 6th day of January, 1981, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Sherratt, Stone, Tillman and
President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
