Resolution 09485OR NAL CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 9485 COMMENDING RICHARD YOUNG FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF ALAMEDA UPON HIS RETIREMENT AS CHIEF OF POLICE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA acknowledges with pride the tenure of office of RICHARD YOUNG, who has served as Chief of Police of the City of Alameda for more than ten years. WHEREAS, RICHARD YOUNG was employed as Chief of Police of the City of Alameda on November 1,1970, bringing to our City extensive experience and expertise in the field of Police work; and WHEREAS, he reorganized the Police Department in 1971 for more effective administration of police services to the community and has maintained a relatively low crime rate in the City during his years of service; and WHEREAS, he initiated training programs for Police Officers and has a commendable record for maintaining safety of Police Officers; and WHEREAS, he was instrumental in the design and construction of the new Police Administration Building; and WHEREAS, he has performed his duties and responsibilities in a diligent and highly professional manner; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Alameda and the community extend to "DICK" commendations on a job well done and congratulations and best wishes for continued good health and 0 success in the coming years. 0 cv 0 0 0_ *** * * * * * * * * ** I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and uaSs8d by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 17th of February, 1981, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Dfnment, Sherratt, Stone, Tillman, and President Corica - 5.
