AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE
CALIFORNIA COASTAL CONSERVANCY FOR FUNDS TO DEVELOP
PUBLIC ACCESS AREAS ALONG ALAMEDA'S SHORELINE
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is committed to maintaining
open space areas within the city limits for purposes of recreation,
visual form, safety and conservation of resources; and
WHEREAS, the city maintains the policy of providing public
access to open space areas along the shoreline of the city; and
WHEREAS, said oomniitment:s and policies are established for
the pleasure and enjoyment of current and future generations of
Alamedans; and
WHEREAS, said commitments and policies are furthermore
documented in the City of Alameda's Combined Land Use Plan and in
actions of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, those same public s line areas are also

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager be
authorized to submit grant applications to the California Coastal
Conservancy for funds to develop public
