APPROVING LOCAL APPLICATION OF THE
STATE HISTORICAL BUILDING CODE
WHEREAS, Title 24 of the California Administrative Code
contains the State Historical Building Code which provides
alternative building regulations for the rehabilitation, preser-
vation, restoration (including r Lcd` reconstruction), or
relocation of buildings or structures designated as historic
buildings; and
WHEREAS, the historical Advisory. Commission of the City
of Alameda has reviewed the State Historical Building Code and
finds said Code would be advantageous in helping to preserve the
City's historical architectural heritage; and
WHEREAS, Section 18954 of the California Health and
Safety Code states, among other things; that the building depart -
ment of every city and county may apply any combination of
regular and alternative building code provisions in permitting
repairs, alterations and additions necessary for the preservation,
restoration, mooring or continued use of a historical building or
structure,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that, upon the recommendation of the Historical
Advisory Commission, the State Historical Building Code, as con -
ained in Part 8 of Title 24 of the California Administrative
Code, is hereby approved as an alternative Building code for the
rehabilitation, preservation, restoration, or relocation of
buildings or structures located in the City of Alameda and
designated as historic buildings by the City„
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 5th of May, 1981, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Sherratt, Stone, Tillman, and President Corica -
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
