Resolution 09537OR G1NAL CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 9537 COMMENDING CHARLES A. TILLMAN FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF ALAMEDA UPON HIS RETIREMENT AS COUNCILMAN THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA acknowledges with pride the tenure of office of CHARLES A. TILLMAN" Councilman of the City of Alameda for the past four years and one month; and WHEREAS, the electors of the people of Alameda elected CHARLES A. TILLMAN to the office of Councilman on March 8, 1977, and he took office OD April 19, lq77' and �, , ^ WHEREAS, he has worked diligently to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Alameda particularly senior citizens being very active in the Meals on Wheels Program, .as Well as other programs to benefit seniors, and was instrumental in getting construction of the Mastick Senior Center underway; and WHEREAS, Charlie has been active in Civic Organizations, such as Red Cross, Elks, Kiwanis, Alameda Hi 12, Friends of the Library, and any others too numerous to list and has served on study committees, such as San Leandro Bay Transportation Committee and South Shore Beach Erosion Committee; and WHEREAS, he was recently appointed to the State of California Com- mission on Aging and plans to continue to actively serve the people of Alameda; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda commends CHARLES A. TILLMAN for the years of service rendered and his accomplishments and expresses appreciation for the devotion to duty in carrying out his responsibilities; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda, City staff, and his many friends throughout the community extend to "Char their congratulations and best wishes for continued good health, success, and much happiness in his retirement. ie" I, the undersigned, herebv certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed bv the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 19th of May, 1981 by the following vote to wit: ` AYES: councilman Diament, Sherratt, Stone, Tillman, and President Corica -5.
