APPROVING USE OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
FUNDS FOR ON AND OFF SITE COSTS IN THE DEVELOPMENT
OF SEVENTY --NINE SECTION 8 RENTAL HOUSING UNITS

WHEREAS, the Housing and - Community Development Act of 1974
created the Community Development Block Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda as an entitlement City has
participated in the Block Grant Program' since i.ts inception; and
WHEREAS, with the submission of its 6th yea application
the City committed' to provide 79 units of affordable housing to
meet its Housing Assistance Plan goals; and
WHEREAS, the City's 6th

CITY OF ALAMEDA that upon the Department of Housing and Urban
Development's approval of the 6th year Community Development
Block Grant; sufficient funds be made available to developers
to cover eligible on -off site construction and rehabilitation
costs to guarantee the feasibility of these projects.
