AUTHORIZING PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE WITH
M & M CONSULTANTS FOR DESIGN OF WIDENING AND EXTENSION
OF HARBOR BAY PARKWAY AND AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM
WHEREAS, on September 24, 1981, the City accepted an offer
of grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) for
the widening and extension of Harbor Bay Parkway; and
WHEREAS, by acceptance of said offer, City has agreed to
a time schedule which requires the completion of final plans
within 90 days of EDA approval; and
WHEREAS, City proposes to accomp
for the engineering design; and
WI-IEREAS, the amount of
bidding procedure would not pe
within said 90 days; and
is by contracting
e required to follow the formal
t completion of the final plans
WHEREAS, M & M Consultants has performed previous work on
Harbor Bay Parkway and is well qualified for this project;
NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AI;AMEDA that pursuant to Section 3 -15 of the City Charter,
the Public Works Director is hereby authorized to negotiate on the
open market with NI'& M Consultants to perform the design work for
the preparation of the plans and specifications for the widening
and extension of Harbor Bay Parkway
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby
authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, a contract
with M & M Consultants for said services,
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 6th of October, 1981,
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Gorman, Sherratt, Stone and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
