Resolution 09689CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 9689 DESIGNATING THE ALAMEDA MODEL AIRPLANE FIELD "WILLIAM OSBORNE FIELD" WHEREAS, the Recreation Commission has considered and recommended to the City Council that the Alameda Model Airplane Field be designated "William Osborne Field"; and WHEREAS, William Osborne was instrumental in the formation of the model airplane club named "Aero Modelers of Alameda" and has dedicated countless hours to the instruction of young persons in the art of model airplane flying; and WHEREAS, Mr. Osborne's suggestion and interest resulted in the establishment of a flying field in the City of Alameda which has been in existence for nearly forty years; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that in appreciation of Mr. Osborne 's dedication and time involvement to foster this excellent hobby among the young people of Alameda, the Alameda Model Airplane Field is hereby designated as "William Osborne Field." I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd of February, 1982, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Diament, Gorman, Sherratt, Stone, and President Corica - 5. NOES: None. ABSENT: None. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the official seal of said City this 3rd day of February, 1982.
