Resolution 09696CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 9696 SUPPORTING SENATE BILL 573 TO EXTEND FUNDING FOR PARATRANSIT SERVICES FOR SENIOR CITIZENS AND HANDICAPPED PERSONS WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has for the past four years been the recipient of Transportation Development Act Article 4.5 funds; and WHEREAS, these funds have been used to administer and operate the City of Alameda's Senior and Handicapped Transportation Program; and WHEREAS, this program has provided door-to-door personalized transportation services for over 1200 frail elderly and disabled residents each year; and WHEREAS, the continued availability of TDA 4.5 funds is critical to the on-going provision of these services; and WHEREAS, the passage of SB 573 would extend TDA 4.5 funding beyond the December 1982 expiration date; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that said Council supports the passage of Senate Bill 373 during the current legislative session. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 15th of February, 1982, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmen Di .ment, Gorman, Sherratt, Stone and President Corica - 5.
