RATIFYING POWER SUPPLY CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BUREAU
OF ELECTRICITY AND THE WESTERN AREA POWER ADMINISTRATION
OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY OF THE UNITED STATES
WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Board of the City of Alameda
has authorized its President to execute a Power Supply Contract
with the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) of the Department
of Energy of the United States to cover the Bureau of Electricity's
purchase of low-cost hydro-electric power; and
WHEREAS, approval of the City Council is required for any
power supply contract of greater than ten years' duration; and
WHEREAS, the contract has been submitted to this Council
and the Council is fully informed and aware of the terms and
conditions thereof; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Alameda
that said contract be entered into;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ALAMEDA that said Council hereby ratifies the Power Supply Contract
entered into by the Bureau of Electricity with the Western Area
Power Administration of the Department of Energy of the United
States.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President of the Public
Utilities Board be and hereby is authorized to execute said Power
Supply Contract with the Western Area Power Administration.

I, the Undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in a special meeting assembled on February 23, 1982,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Gorman, Sherratt, Stone and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
