Resolution 09701CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. - 9701 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA EXPRESSING SUPPORT OF SENATE BILL 850 RELATING TO ADULT DAY HEALTH CARE WHEREAS, Chapter 911 of the Statutes of 1980 appropriated moneys to the State Department of Health Services for the purpose of contracting on a one-time funding basis with community organi- zations for specified expenses incurred in the initial operation of licensed adult day health centers; and WHEREAS, SB 850, introduced by Senator Henry J. Mello, would authorize an additional appropriation to the State Department of Health Services for funding the establishment of licensed adult day health centers; and WHEREAS, the increase in older Californians with long term health care needs is a continuing humane and economic problem; and WHEREAS, adult day health care enables older persons to receive health and social supportive services while living in their own homes and is a needed alternative to in-home services and institutionalization; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that due to the need in the state and in our community and the public interest in day care centers this Council goes on record as supporting the adoption by the Legislature of Senate Bill 850. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on 2nd of March, 1982, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Coucilmen Diament, Gorman, Sherratt, Stone and President Corica - 5.
