Resolution 09702CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 9702 RATIFYING APPLICATION, FOR SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT OF $125,000 FROM CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS FOR SECOND PHASE OF SMALL BOAT RAMP AND FISHING FACILITY -- PARKING LOT PAVING WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is desirous of completing the development of a Boat Launching Facility contiguous to the Alameda Air Station and Encinal High School; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is rec,uestinq a grant for development of a paved narking facility to meet the needs of the boaters; and WHEREAS, the Department of Boating and Waterways is authorized to provide grants to cities, counties, districts, and other public agencies for the construction and development of small craft launching facilities; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has conducted a feasibility report which showed the proposed project to be engineeringly and financially feasible and economically justified; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has provided a foru comments and has determined that the proposed project is needed to provide the public use of the associated launching facility and waterfront; a cony of the public notice, the City Council meeting agenda, and public comments concerning the proposed project are submitted as a part of this application; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is willing to enter into an agreement to provide for the operation and maintenance of the proposed facility at no cost to the State; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the City of Alameda by adoption of this Resolution hereby requests that the Department of Boating and Waterways provide a grant for the purpose of development of a paved parking facility, said facility being a portion of a boat launching facility contigu- ous to the Alameda Naval Air Station and Encinal High School; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City cf Alameda agrees to accept the grant and hereby authorizes Bruce Rupp, City Manager, to sign the Grant Agreement for the aforesaid purpose. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on 2nd of March, 1982, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Coucilmen Diament, Gorman, Sherratt, Stone and President Corica - 5.
