AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF STATEMENT OF COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVES AND PROJECTED USE OF FUNDS
TO U. S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOP-
MENT FOR FUNDS UNDER THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM (EIGHTH YEAR) AND
ADOPTING CERTIFICATIONS AND ASSURANCES FOR RECEIPTS
OF SAID FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is considered an entitlement
City and accordingly has been receiving federal funds authorized
and appropriated under the Housing and Community Development
Act of 1974; and
WHEREAS, in 1977, Congress enacted a new Housing and Community
Development Act which further authorizes and appropriates funds
which the City is eligible to receive; and
WHEREAS, in 1981, Congress enacted statutory amendments
which further define procedures and eligible activities for the
receipt of Community Development Block Grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has prepared a Statement of
Community Development Objectives and Projected Use of Funds
pursuant to the new legislation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the City Manager is authorized to submit said
Statement of Community Development Objectives and Projected Use
of Funds and Certifications as adopted hereto.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on May 18, 1982,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Gorman, Sherratt, Stone and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
