Resolution 09804CITY OF ALAME04 RESOLUTION N0, 9804 ACCEPTANCE OF INCOME GROUP PROPORTIONS FOR THE CITY OF ALAMEDA AS REVISED BY THE ASSOCIATION OF BAY AREA GOVERNMENTS WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution Number 9721, dated March 16, 1982, accepted ABAG's determination of the City's share of the regional housing need with regard to the total number of new housing units needed by 1985 as contained in Table C-2 of the Draft Housing Needs Report, but specifically excluded acceptance of sub-component distributions as shown in other tables included in the report; and WHEREAS, the State Department of Housing and Community Development has required ABAG to reassess their sub-component estimate of local income proportions before accepting ABAG's Housing Needs Report; and WHEREAS, ABAG's staff has reassessed local income proportions as determined in Table 4 of Tech Memo 2, dated March 25, 1982, and ABAG has requested local jurisdictions to review and comment upon the new income proportion figures contained therein; and WHEREAS, the income proportions for the City of Alameda set forth in Table 4 of ABAG's Tech Memo 2, dated March 25, 1982, approximate the 1980 income proportions contained in the City of Alameda Housing Element. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Alameda hereby accepts theinC00eprOpVrtiOn figures for the City as contained in Table 4 of ABAG's Tech Memo 2, dated March 25, 1982, only as being consistent with income proportions contained in Table 33 of the City's adopted State approved Housing Element and until such numbers are revised as required by law prior to July 1, 1984; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Alameda recognizes it is operating under conditions of severe land availability constraints in addressing housing needs of all income gr0u ps aDd*jll look for this factor to be more strongly considered in fu ABAG determinations of local shares of area wide housing needs; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Alameda will continue to address the housing needs of all income levels through the implementation Of the City's Housing Element; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Executive Director of the Association of Bay Area Governments.
