AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
ALAMEDA AND THE ALAMEDA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO CONDUCT
AN "INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL SITE INVENTORY AND
EVALUATION"
WHEREAS, the City, in the Economic Development Action Plan,
has defined the importance of a comprehensive industrial and
commercial site inventory and evaluation in order to proceed with
effective economic development; and
WHEREAS, City Staff has ascertained that the proposed inventory
and evaluation does not duplicate past efforts; and
WHEREAS, Community Development Block Grant funds are available
to conduct the proposed project, which is an eligible CDBG activity;
and
WHEREAS, the City solicited and received several statements
of qualifications from firms and selected as a result of careful
review the Chamber of Commerce as the most appropriate en"Lity to
conduct the proposed project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that said Council hereby authorizes the execution of
a contract between the City of Alameda and the Alameda Chamber of
Commerce for the preparation of an "Industrial and Commercial Site
Inventory and Evaluation," in of a contract amount
not to exceed $24,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney shall review
and approve the contract as to legal form and content prior to any
execution of said agreement between the City of Alameda and the
Alameda Chamber of Commerce.
