AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA AND McMANIS ASSOCIATES, INC. TO CONDUCT A
"MARRET ASSESSMENT AND LABOR FORCE EVALUATION"
WHEREAS, the City has defined the importance of a business
market assessment and labor force evaluation in order to proceed
with effective economic development in the Economic Development
Action Plan; and
WHEREAS, Community Development Block Grant funds are avail-
able to fund the project; and
WHEREAS, the preparation of a "Market Assessment and Labor
Force Evaluation" is an eligible activity for use of CDBG funds;
and
WHEREAS, the firm of McManis Associates, Inc. was selected
by City Staff Committee pursuant to a Request for Proposal and receipt
by the City of six consultant proposals;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that said Council hereby authorizes the execution of
a contract between the City of Alameda and McManis Associates, Inc.
for the preparation of a "Market Assessment and Labor Force Evalua-
tion," in consideration of a contract amount not to exceed $23,500.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney shall review
and approve the contract as to legal form and content prior to any
execution of said agreement between the City of Alameda and McManis
Associates, Inc.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on 20th of July, 1982,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Gorman, Stone and President Corica - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman Sherratt - 1.
