AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR
FUNDS UNDER THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM (EIGHTH YEAR) AND ADOPTING
CERTIFICATIONS AND ASSURANCES FOR RECEIPTS OF SAID
FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is considered an entitlement
City and accordingly has been receiving federal funds authorized
and appropriated under the Housing and Community Development
Act of 1974; and
WHEREAS, in 1977, Congress enacted a new Housing and
Community Development Act which further authorizes and appropriates
funds which the City is eligible to receive; and
WHEREAS, in 1981, Congress enacted statutory amendments
which further define procedures and eligible activities for the
receipt of Community Development Block Grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has prepared a State of
Community Development Objectives and Projected Use of Funds
pursuant to the new legislation; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development
has awarded a grant in the amount of $1,346,697 for Fiscal year
1982 for the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, the City has made substantial progress toward
implementing its goals and objectives, and the condition imposed
by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has been
met;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA that the City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute, for and on behalf of the City of Alameda, said Grant
Agreement.
T, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of.the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd day of November, 1982, by the
following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Gorman, Sherratt, Stone, and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
