AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF VARIOUS VEHICLES
FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AND THE CITY ATTORNEY'S
OFFICE
WHEREAS, it has been determined that one shop truck
and two pools cars in the Public Works Department and the
City Attorney's car are approaching or have passed their
useful life; and
WHEREAS, it is possible to purchase nearly new vehicles
including new-vehicle warranties on the open market at a
considerable savings to the City; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the current Public
Works budget and in the City Attorney's budget for the
purchase of these vehicles;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City
Charter the Public Works Director is hereby authorized to
negotiate for and purchase the required vehicles on the open
market.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 1st of February, 1983,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: C0UDcilmS0bers DiameDt, Gorman, Sherratt, Stone and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
