APPROVING THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
RECOMMENDATIONS DATED MARCH 25, 1983, AND ADOPTING
THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR'S RECOMMENDATIONS
AS THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY FOR THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is the recipient of Community
Development Block Grant Entitlement funds as authorized by the
Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development
reauires the existence of a local economic development strategy
in order to use Community Development Block Grant Entitlement
funds for economic development activities (570.304[b]3); and
WHEREAS, there is a demonstrated need for City participa-
tion in economic development assistance, community-wide, involving
appropriate activities for which Community Development Block
Grant Entitlement funds may be used.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA that said recommendations be adopted as the
economic development strategy of the City of Alameda, and that
staff is instructed to implement the strategy involving the
appropriate use of Community Development Block Grant Entitlement
funds.
I, the undersigned, hereby cerLify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th day of April, 1983,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Diament, Sherratt, Stone and President Corica - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmember Gorman - 1.
