APPROVING PAYMENT OF MEDICAL COVERAGE BY THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA FOR THE FAMILY OF ROBERT J. DAVEY, JR.
WHEREAS, Robert J. Davey, Jr. worked as a Police Officer
the City of Alameda for ten years; and
WHEREAS, Officer Davey worked his full shift on Thursday,
March 3, 1983; and
WHEREAS, Officer Davey agreed to work overtime on a
special assignment that day; and
WHEREAS, Officer Davey was shot and killed on March 3,
1983 in the line of duty while performing that sPecial assign-
ment; and
WHEREAS, Officer Davey leaves a wife, Karen Sue Davey,
and four children, Krista, Robert, Kelli and Joseph; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to provide for their
health care while the children are growing; and
WHEREAS, it is the wish of this Council that the City
of Alameda pay the Kaiser Family Health Plan monthly premium
cost for Mrs. Davey and her four children until each child
reaches age 18 or is married, whichever comes first;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA that said Council hereby authorizes the payment
of the Kaiser Family Health Plan for Karen Sue Davey and her
four children; Krista, Robert, Kelli and Joseph, until each
child reaches age 18 or is married, whichever comes first.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th day of April, 1983,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmerrbers Diament, Sherratt, Stone and President Corica - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: CounciImember Gorman - 1.
