AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT WITH OAKLAND
SCAVENGER COMPANY IN CONNECTION WITH SETTLING
FINANCIAL POLICIES IN RELATION TO USE OF THE
ALTAMONT LANDFILL BY THE CITY AND COUNTY OF SAN
FRANCISCO AND SANITARY FILL COMPANY
WHEREAS, a proposed agreement with the Oakland Scavenger
Company, a corporation, to settle financial policies in relation
to use of the Altamont Landfill for the disposal of San Francisco's
refuse has been submitted to this Council and the Council is fully
informed and aware of the terms and conditions thereof and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Alameda
that said contract be entered into;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that this Council does hereby endorse the distribution
formula recommended by the Refuse Rate Review Committee which pro-
vides a percentage allocation to Alameda of 8.62% of the total
revenues collected from San Francisco annually during the contract
period.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby
authorized and directed to execute, for and on behalf of the City
of Alameda, that certain agreement referred to above by and between
the Oakland Scavenger Company and the City of Alameda settling
financial policies in relation to the use of the Altamont Landfill
by the City and. County of San Francisco and Sanitary Fill Company.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to attest to same.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the revenues so received by
the City shall be appropriated to a special revenue fund available
for funding special City projects.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 21st of June, 1983,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 1.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
