AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF VARIOUS PIECES OF
EQUIPMENT FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, MAINTENANCE
SERVICES DIVISION
WHEREAS, funds are available in the Fiscal Year 1983-
84 Public Works Budget (Maintenance Services Division) and the
Sewer Services Fund for the purchase of the following equipment
for the Public Works Department, Maintenance Services Division:
1. Computer
2. Logic Analyzer
3. Forklift (used)
4. Two Pick-up Trucks, Compact
5. Two Dump Trucks, 1-Ton
6. Three Pool Cars, Compact (used)
7. Loader/Backhoe (used)
8. Television Sewer Inspection System with Joint
Testing and Sealing Equipment
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the various pieces
of equipment are available on the open market as good, used,
demonstrators and prior year models which can be acquired at
a considerable savings to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter
the Public Works Director is hereby authorized to negotiate
and purchase the equipment listed above on the open market.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of
Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 16th of August, 1983, by
the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Monsef and President Diament - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmember Lucas - 1.
