AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY,
THE ALAMEDA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE FRANK
WEEDEN FOUNDATION RELATING TO THEIR ANNUAL CONTRIBU-
TIONS TO THE ALAMEDA AND ENCINAL SWIM CENTERS FOR
MAINTENANCE AND EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda, the Alameda Unified School
District and the Alameda Swimming Pool Association have entered
into an agreement for the operation and maintenance of the Alameda
Swim Center and the Encinal Swim Center; and
WHEREAS, Paragraph 5 of said agreement contemplates the
contribution of $10,000 annually for five years by the Frank
Weeden Foundation; and
WHEREAS, a proposed agreement between the City, the
Alameda Unified School District and the Frank Weeden Foundation
relating to their annual contributions to the Swim Centers for
deferred maintenance and anticipated replacement of equipment
has been submitted to this Council, and the Council is fully
informed and aware of the terms and conditions thereof; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of
Alameda that said agreement be entered into;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA that the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to execute, for and on behalf of the City, that certain
agreement referred to above by and between the City of Alameda,
the Alameda Unified School District and the Frank Weeden
Foundation relating to their annual contributions to the
Alameda and Encinal Swim Centers for maintenance and replacement
of equipment. The City Clerk is hereby directed to attest to
same.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of
Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 20th of September, 1983, by
the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmember Gorman - 1.
