AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF ONE TYPE 190
TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROLLER ASSEMBLY IN CONNECTION WITH
INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT CENTRAL AVENUE AND
BALLENA BOULEVARD/FOURTH STREET
WHEREAS, City forces will be installing the traffic signal
at Central Avenue and Ballena Boulevard/Fourth Street; and
WHEREAS, the Specifications for said traffic signal provide
for a Type 190 traffic sianal controller assembly; and
WHEREAS, funds for the signal installation are being
initially provided from the TOPICS Fund with partial payment from
developers in the area who may receive benefits from the signal
installation; and
WHEREAS, this item can be purchased at a considerable
savings to the City in the open market;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter the
Public Works Director is hereby authorized to negotiate and
purchase the required traffic signal controller assembly in the
open market.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed
by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 18th of October, 1983, by the following
vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and
President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
