RESOLUTION APPROVING CONSENTS TO ASSIGNMENT OF LEASE
TODD SHIPYARDS
WHEREAS, on the 1st day of September, 1946, a lease of
certain real property owned by the City of Alameda was entered
into by and between the City of Alameda, as Lessor, and United
Engineering Company, as Lessee; and
WHEREAS, said lease was subsequently and validly assigned
to Todd Shipyards Corporation; and
WHEREAS, Todd Shipyards Corporation has requested that
the Council of the City of Alameda consent to the assignment of
said lease to National Council for Community Development, Inc.,
a New York non-profit corporation, and National Council for
Community Development, Inc. has indicated to the Council of the
City of Alameda its desire to accept such assignment; and
WHEREAS, National Council for Community Development Inc.
has requested that the Council of the City of Alameda consent
to the assignment of said lease to Alameda Gateway, Ltd., a
California limited partnership, and Alameda Gateway, Ltd. has
indicated to the Council of the City of Alameda its desire to
accept such assignment; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Alameda
that such consents be given.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that said City of Alameda does hereby consent to and
approve the assignment of that certain lease dated September 1,
1946 by and between the City of Alameda, Lessor, and United
Engineering Company, Lessee, subsequently assigned to Todd
Shipyards Corporation; said assignment being from Todd Shipyards
Corporation to National Council for Community Development, Inc.;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said City of Alameda does
hereby consent to and approve the assignment of that certain
lease dated September 1, 1946 by and between the City of Alameda,
Lessor, and United Engineering Company, Lessee, and herein assigned
to National Council for Community Development, Inc.; said assignment
being from National Council for Community Development, Ind. to
Alameda Gateway, Ltd.; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City
of Alameda be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute, for and
on behalf of the City of Alameda, the written consents of the
City of Alameda to the assignment of said lease as set out above.
The City Clerk of the City of Alameda is hereby directed to attest
to same.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda —in a regular adjourned meeting assembled on the
20th day of October, 1983, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President
Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
