RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT TO LEASE PROVIDING
FOR CANCELLATION THEREOF - TODD SHIPYARDS
WHEREAS, a proposed amendment to the lease originally
entered into by and between the City of Alameda, Lessor, and
United Engineering Company, Lessee, and subsequently assigned to
Todd Shipyards Corporation, the Lessee's interest of which is
now owned by Alameda Gateway, Ltd., a successor Lessee, has
been submitted to this Council; and
WHEREAS, said amendment relates to the City's right to
cancel said lease upon thirty (30) days written notice to Alameda
Gateway, Ltd. if at any time reasonable negotiations for the
execution of a new lease between the City and Alameda Gateway,
Ltd. are terminated or otherwise discontinued; and
WHEREAS, said amendment does not change the present sub-
stantive provisions cf the lease; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of
Alameda that said Amendment to Lease be entered into;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TEE
CITY OF ALAMEDA that the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to execute, for and on behalf of the City of Alameda
that certain Amendment to Lease referred to above by and between
Alameda Gateway, Ltd. and the City of Alameda, providing for
cancellation thereof.

20th day of October, 1983, by the following vote to wit:
