AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF
ALAMEDA AND SIGHT AND INSIGHT, A NONPROFIT CORPORATION,
FOR SUBLEASE OF A PORTION OF MASTICK SENIOR CENTER
COMPLEX
WHEREAS, Sight and Insight, a nonprofit corporation, desires
to sublease from the City for a third year a portion of the
Mastick Senior Center Complex for studio space and classes for
its members and the larger community, art seminars and art exhibits,
which use is consistent with City policies and programs; and
WHEREAS, the Alameda Unified School District has consented
to said sublease; and
WHEREAS, a form of agreement containing the covenants,
terms and conditions to be entered into is on file in the office
of the City Clerk and the Council is informed of the contents
thereof; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest that said Agreement
be entered into;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE It RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the agreement referred to above, and the terms,
conditions and covenants contained therein be, and the same are
hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he
is hereby authorized to execute, for and on behalf of the City
of Alameda, that certain proposed Agreement with Sight and Insight
for the sublease of certain portions of the Mastick Senior Center
Complex, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to attest to same.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 1st day of
November, 1983, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President
Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
