A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA INITIATING
PROCEEDINGS FOR THE FORMATION OF A LANDSCAPE
MAINTENANCE ASSESSMENT DISTRICT FOR SELECTED
AREAS OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has provided for the improve-
ment by replacing landscaping and related street furniture along
Webster Street and along Lincoln Avenue between St. Charles and
Sherman Streets; and
WHEREAS, said landscaping will need regular and continued
maintenance such as irrigation, feeding, tree trimming, trash
and litter removal, and possible replacement and repair; and
WHEREAS, said maintenance requirements may be provided
better by uniform care; and
WHEREAS, assessments may be made on the benefits to each
zone and to each property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that said Council hereby initiates the proceedings
for the formation of a Landscape Maintenance Assessment District,
hereinafter referred to as "Landscape Maintenance District,"
for the following areas: (1) Webster Street between Central
Avenue and Atlantic Avenue; and (2) Lincoln Avenue between
St. Charles Street and Sherman Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an Engineer's Report is hereby
authorized to be prepared as required by law.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 1st day of
November, 1983, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President
Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
