AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT (TRAFFIC VOLUME
COUNTERS) PURSUANT TO SECTION 3-15 OF THE CITY
CHARTER
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is necessary to
purchase five traffic volume counters for the Public Works Depart-
ment and funds are available under a grant approved by the Office
of Traffic Safety for their purchase; and
WHEREAS, it is possible to purchase these counters from
Traffic Count Services, Sausalito, and it has been determined that
Traffic Count Services is the sole agent in the 11 western states
for Streeter-Amet brand counters, which are the only widely avail-
able counters, and all other possible alternatives have been
examined;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter the
Public Works Director, in cooperation with the City Purchasing Agent,
is hereby authorized to negotiate for and purchase the required
five traffic volume counters from Traffic Count Services of Sausalito.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 21st of February, 1984,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas and President Diament - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmember Monsef - 1.
