A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE TEN-DAY PERIOD,
APRIL 6 - 15, 1984, AS "ALAMEDA: THE CITY FAIR"
WHEREAS, the annual San Francisco Bay In-the--Water Boat
Show will be held at Mariner Square in the City of Alameda between
the dates of April 6 and April 15, 1984; and
WHEREAS, the Alameda Chamber of Commerce will sponsor
numerous civic events and activities throughout the City of Alameda
to coincide with the San Francisco Bay In-the-Water Boat Show; and
WHEREAS, the Alameda Chamber of Commerce activities include
a "Clean Sweep" citywide cleanup campaign and City Garage Sale
on April 7 and 8, 1984; and
WHEREAS. the Alameda Chamber of Commerce has enlisted the
participation of a wide variety of merchants, associations,
organizations and agencies in the City of Alameda for a City Fair
on April 14 and 15, 1984; and
WHEREAS, these events and activities will attract more
than 20,000 visitors to the City of Alameda from throughout Northern
California, as well as providing recreation and business opportun-
ities for the residents of the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, it is determined that these activities and events
will bring honor and recognition to the City of Alameda;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the ten-day period between April 6 and April 15,
1984, shall be declared ALAMEDA: THE CITY FAIR; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Council urges active
21i :12 support for and participation in activities and events planned
for ALAMEDA: THE CITY FAIR by all residents, merchants, associa-
tions, organizations and agencies of the City of Alameda.
I,‘the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 20th of March, 1984,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers- Gorman, Hanna,.Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
