Resolution 10307CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 10307 APPROPRIATING MONEY FROM THE TIDELANDS TRUST FUND FOR A FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR THE ENCINAL BOAT RAMP WHEREAS, the City desires to submit an application to the State Department of Boating and Waterways for funds to modify the facilities at the Encinal Boat Ramo; and WHEREAS, a study of the feasibility of correcting the problems at the site and cost estimates for the work are needed to accompany the application; and WHEREAS, JORDAN ASSOCIATES, INC. has presented its proposal to perform a feasibility study and prepare a Feasibility Report for use by the City in securing funds for modifications at the Encinal Boat Ramp; and WHEREAS, there are no current allocations or specific funds available to fund the cost of a feasibility study; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the proposal of Jordan Associates, Inc., dated April 24, 1934, a copy of which is attached, to perform a feasi- bility study for the Encinal Boat Ramp and prepare a Feasibility Report, is hereby accepted; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said proposal and this acceptance shall constitute the contract of the parties hereto; and r. In response to that meeting, Jordan Associates, Inc. is pleased to submit this proposal to perform a feasibility study and prepare a Feasibility Report for use by the City in securing funds for the construction of improvements at the facility. These improvements are intended to prevent the accumulation of debris at the ramp and minimize the damaging effects of wave action. The report will also address the upgrading of the restroom facilities at the site. The proposed fee for this report is S 3,350.00. As consultants for the City of Alameda on this project, Jordan Associates, Inc. will prepare all the necessary documentation and file a grant application with the Boating and Waterways Department. The proposed outline for the report is included in Attach- ment I to this letter. A preliminary schedule is included as Attach- ment II. Jordan Associates is prepared to proceed with this project for the City of Alameda immediately upon your acceptance of this proposal. We are confident that the experience and capabilities of our staff on marine projects throughout the Bay Area and the West Coast will insure that the City will receive a design proposal which fully adresses the econmic and technical considerations related to the facilities and provides cost - effective solutions. Further,if selected as design consultant for project, Jordan Associates will have the unique ability to develop a complete and functional design from the proposed concepts, thus assuring that the City receives the maximum benefits from the proposed design concepts. Specifically, assistance will be requested for obtaining drawings of the existing facility and utility location drawings which show potential locations for tie -ins, provide any data which is available and assist in the acquisition of data relative to tides, water depths and currents, and provide any required topographic data necessary for the study. Assistance will also be requested in the definition of the problem which the City has experienced with the facility and the justification for the proposed improvements. Thank you for considering our firm for your needs. Our familiarity with projects along the San Francisco Bay will be of great value to the City of Alameda on the project.
