CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 10332
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH THE CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS RELATIVE TO THE
PURCHASE AND OPERATION OF A PATROL BOAT AND AUTHORIZING
OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF SAID PATROL BOAT
WHEREAS, the California Department of Boating and. Waterways
has approved a Boating Safety and Enforcement Grant to the City
of Alameda for the purchase and operation of a Patrol Boat for
the purposes of promoting boating safety and law enforcement;
and
WHEREAS, a proposed contract with the California Department
of Boating and Waterways for the purchase and operation of a
Patrol Boat has been submitted to this Council, and the Council
is fully informed and aware of the terms and conditions thereof;
and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Alameda
that said agreement be entered into; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that a Farallon 25-foot
offshore patrol boat with sterndrive, available through Farallon
Plastics, Ltd., is the best product for the City's needs and no
other manufacturers of boats this size can meet the Farallon
specifications;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the implementation of the Harbor Patrol Program
is approved and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to execute, for and on behalf of the City of Alameda that certain
Contract referred to above bv and between the California Department
of Boating and Waterways and the City of Alameda for the purchase
and operation of a Patrol Boat; and

''' ;L City Charter the City Manager or his designee is hereby
CL authorized to negotiate and purchase a Farallon 25-foot offshore
CI patrol boat with sterndrive, and equipment, on the open market.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 15th of May, 1984,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Hanna, Monsef and President Diament - 3.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmembers Gorman and Lucas.
