AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE
CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION TO PROVIDE PARTIAL
FUNDING FOR STREET LIGHT ENGINEERING STUDY PHASE 2
WHEREAS, the City has received a grant award through the
California Energy Commission's State Energy Conservation Plan
to provide partial funding for a streetlight engineering study
to be conducted by the Bureau of Electricity to convert incandescent
lamps to high pressure sodium; and
WHEREAS, a Grant Agreement with the California Energy
Commission has been submitted to this Council and the Council
is fully informed and aware of the terms and conditions thereof;
and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Alameda
that said agreement be entered into;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the Mayor of the City of Alameda is hereby author-
ized and directed to execute, for and on behalf of the City, that
certain Grant Agreement referred to above by and between the City
of Alameda and the California Energy Commission to provide partial
funding for the Street Light Engineering Study Phase 2.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that pursuant to Paragraph D of
said agreement William C. Norton, Public Works Director, is hereby
designated as the individual authorized to carry out this agree-
ment.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 18th day of September, 1984,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef, and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
