RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE
REGIONAL COMPETITION PROGRAM OF THE CALIFORNIA PARK
AND RECREATION FACILITIES ACT OF 1984 FOR ADDITIONAL
IMPROVEMENTS AT WASHINGTON PARK
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted
the California Park and Recreational Facilities Act of 1984, which
provides funds to the State of California and its political sub-
divisions for developing facilities for public recreational
purposes; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has
been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the
program within the state, setting up necessary procedures govern-
ing application by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department
of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by reso-
lution the approval of applications before submission of said
applications to the state; and
WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the applicant
must comply with; and
WHEREAS, the applicant agency will enter into an agreement
with the State of California for development rehabilitation or
restoration of the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that said Council hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for 1984 state grant
assistance for the above project; and
2 Certifies that said agency understands the assurances and
certification in the application; and
3 Certifies that said agency has or will have sufficient funds
to operate and maintain the project, and if the project is
selected for state grant funding;
A--„, 4 Certifies that said organization will provide construction
plans and specifications to the state within one year of the
appropriation of funds under this program and will commence
work immediately after state approval; and

D 't 5 Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City to conduct
;) 2 all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including
but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments, pay-
ment requests, and so on, which may be necessary for the
. completion of the aforementioned project.
I, the undersigned, heresy certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 10th_ of October, 1984,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
