AWARDING CONTRACT TO GALLAGHER & BURK, INC. FOR ALAMEDA
PUBLIC ACCESS, ALAMEDA PARK BOAT RAMP PARKING LOT
CONSTRUCTION, AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION THEREOF
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda heretofore
published notice calling for bids for Alameda Public Access, Alameda
Park Boat Ramp Parking Lot Construction, in accordance with
Specifications No. P.W. 8-24-20 approved October 16, 1984; and
WHEREAS, in response to said notice a sealed bid was sub-
mitted by Gallagher & Burk, Inc. agreeing to perform said work in
accordance with said Specifications for the base bid sum of $129,405
and $50,000 for the two add alternates; and
WHEREAS, the available Grant Funds from the Department of
Boating and Waterways are $125,000 for this project; and
WHEREAS, it has been agreed to reduce the scope of the project
resulting in a cost savings and to include Add Alternate No. 2 only,
Irrigation System and Electrical Service, resulting in a total
project cost of $124,000, including contingencies; and
WHEREAS, said firm is a responsible bidder and its proposal
is the lowest and best bid received;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the modified base bid proposal, plus Add Alternate
No. 2, subject to formal project approval by California Department
of Boating and Waterways is hereby accepted, the contract for
Alameda Public Access, Alameda Park Boat Ramp Parking Lot Construc-
tion is hereby awarded to said bidder, and the Mayor is hereby
authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, said contract
on behalf of the City of Alameda.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 4th of December, 1984,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5,
NOES: hone.
ABSENT: None.
