AUTHORIZING RENEWAL OF EXISTING LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE
CONTRACT WITH CAGWIN & DORWARD, LANDSCAPE ENGINEERING
CONTRACTORS, AND APPROVING ADDITION TO CONTRACT OF
LINCOLN STREET MEDIAN STRIP MAINTENANCE TO BE PAID FOR
FROM ISLAND CITY ASSESSMENT DISTRICT FUND NO. 506
WHEREAS, on November 24, 1981, the City entered into an
agreement with Cagwin & Dorward, Landscape and Engineering Con-
tractors, to provide landscape maintenance of various areas in
the City for one year; and
WHEREAS, the quality of work by said Contractor has been
acceptable to the City and the community and the contract has
been renewed on a year-to-year basis since 1981; and
WHEREAS, said Contractor has agreed to perform said landscape
maintenance service for an additional one year period for thc
sum of $66,293; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to include the recently completed
median strip on Lincoln Avenue in the areas covered by this con-
tract with the funding for this new service to come frcm the
Island City Assessment District, Fund No. 506; and
WHEREAS, said Contractor has agreed to perform landscape
maintenance services at the Lincoln Street Median Strip for a
one-year period at a cost of $1,392;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the Mayor and City Clerk be, and each hereby is,
authorizcd to execute and to attest to, respectively on behalf
of the City, a one-year renewal of that certain agreement between
the City and Cagwin & Dorward, P.W. 9-81-9, for landscape maintenance
services at a contract price of $66,293, and the addition to the
contract of maintenance services at the Lincoln Street Median
Strip for a one-year period at a cost of $1,392, to be paid from
the Island City Assessment District, Fund No. 506, is hereby
approved.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 18th of December, 1984,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
