AWARDING CONTRACT TO O.C. JONES AND SONS FOR
RECONSTRUCTION OF EIGHTH STREET, CENTRAL AVENUE TO
PORTOLA AVENUE, AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION THEREOF
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda heretofore
published notice calling for bids for Reconstruction of Eighth
Street, Central Avenue to Portola Avenue, in accordance with
Specifications No. P.W. 9-84-23, approved December 18, 1984; and
WHEREAS, in response to said notice a sealed bid was sub-
mitted by 0. C. Jones and Sons, agreeing to perform said work
in accordance with said Specifications for the sum of $66,451;
and
WHEREAS, said firm is a responsible bidder and its proposal
is the lowest and best bid received;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the bid of O. C. Jones and Sons is here accepted,
the contract for the Reconstruction of Eighth Street, Central
Avenue to Portola Avenue, is hereby awarded to said bidder, and
the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk
to attest, said contract on behalf of the City of Alariveda.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th of February, 1985,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
