AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF EIGHT POLICE
VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, there are funds available in the police equip-
ment replacement fund for the purchase of eight new police
vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the Dodge Diplomat, with CHP Specifications,
is available through the cooperative purchase program of the
State of California Department of General Services; and
WHEREAS, this vehicle is the best option for police class
equipment available to the City at this time and can be obtained
at a considerable savings to the City through cooperative purchase;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter
the Police Department, in cooperation with the City Purchasing
Agent, is hereby authorized to purchase eight (8) midsize 318
cubic inch engine, CHP specification, Dodge Diplomat vehicles
from the State of California Department of General Services.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th of March, 1985,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament
NOES: None.
ABSENT:
None.
