Resolution 10578CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 10578 AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR ENTERPRISE ZONE DESIGNATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is a charter city within the State of California; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has developed and implemented a comprehensive strategy to stimulate investment and growth within the city; and WHEREAS, there are distressed areas within the city needing investment and development; and WHEREAS, the California legislature enacted the Enterprise Zone Act on March 20, 1984 as a mechanism to stimulate private investment and business growth in distressed areas of California by providing tax and other incentives; and WHEREAS, there are three potential distressed areas within the city eligible for designation as an Enterprise Zone; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an application for Enterprise Zone designation to the State Department of Commerce I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd of April, 1985, by the following vote to wit: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Council embers Gorman, Hanna, Monsef and President Diament - 4.
