COMMENDING ivtICHAEL G FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE TO
THE CITY OF ALAkAEDA AS CITY COUNC(UNEMBER AND PLANNING
BOARD MEMBER
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY 0E ALAMEDA records with great admiration and
esteem the four years of service rendered as CouncImember and five years as Planning
Eloordmennber by MICHAEL GORMAN to the City of Alameda, and
WHEREAS, MICHAEL GOR8AAN was elected tw the City Council inApri|, |98| ond
served a distinguished four year term of o fice;ond
WHEREAS, previous to that M was appoin ed to the P|onning
board on July |, 1976 where he served as a dedicated and conscientious board Member
for five years, and
WHEREAS, in discharging the responsibilities of this office as Counci|rnennber,
MICHAEL GORMAN accepted appointment as Alarneda's
Airport Land Use Commission and served as Alternate to the Association of Bay Area
Governments to safeguard the community's interests in these vital matters; and
WHEREAS, MICHAEL GORMAN has earned the respect and admiration of so many
for his dedication and leadership in helping to solve the many problems which have faced
this Council.
NOW, TUEREF(]FtE, bE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda
does hereby express to this outstanding individual its genuine esteem and sincere
gratitude for his unselfish contribution of time, effort and experience for the benefit of
the community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda, City Staff
and his many friends throughout the community convey to MICHAEL heir
congratulations and best wishes for continued good health, success and much happiness.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 21st of May, 1985,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 4.
