AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF ALAMEDA AND THE ALAMEDA MAIN STREET
PROJECT, INC. FOR FISCAL YEAR 1985-86
WHEREAS, the City is a participant in the Community
Development Block Grant Program authorized under the Housing and
Community Development Act of 1974, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda's economic development
strategy calls for programs and activities to stimulate and
revitalize the downtown and neighborhood commercial areas of the
City; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has programmed Community
Development Block Grant funds for the purpose of providing
technical and financial assistance to merchants and property
owners for downtown and neighborhood commercial revitalization;
and
WHEREAS, the Alameda Main Street Project, Inc. exists
and is uniquely suited to provide a wide range of activities
leading to downtown and neighborhood commercial revitalization;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the City Manager be and hereby is authorized to
execute, and the City Clerk to attest, on behalf of the City, a
Grant Agreement with the Alameda Main Street Project, Inc. for
fiscal year 1985-86.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd of July, 1985,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
