AWARDING CONTRACT TO BAY CITIES PAVING AND GRADING,
INC. FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF EAGLE AVENUE AND
HIBBARD STREET, AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION THEREOF
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda heretofore
published notice calling for bids for Reconstruction of Eagle
Avenue and Hibbard Street in accordance with Specifications No.
P.W. 1-85-3 approved June 4, 1985; and
WHEREAS, in response to said notice a sealed bid was
submitted by Bay Cities Paving and Grading, Inc. agreeing to
perform said work in accordance with said Specifications for the
sum of $93,346.75; and
WHEREAS, said firm is a responsible bidder and its
proposal is the lowest and best bid received;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the bid of Bay Cities Paving and Grading, Inc. is
hereby accepted, the contract for reconstruction of Eagle Avenue
between Hibbard Street and Grand Street, and Hibbard Street from
Eagle Avenue to Buena Vista Avenue is hereby awarded to said
bidder, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the
City Clerk to attest, said contract on behalf of the City of
Alameda.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an additional 10%, to a
maximum project cost of $102,681.00, is hereby approved for
contingencies.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 16th of July, 1985,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
