AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH
HOPE FOR HOUSING COUNSELING SERVICES FOR FISCAL
YEAR 1985 -1986
WHEREAS, Equal Housing Opportunity is a right guaranteed
to all Americans under Title VI and Title VIII of the Civil
Rights Act of 1968; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is a participant in the
Community Development Block Grant program authorized under the
Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended; and
WHEREAS, Housing Counseling services are an eligible use
of Community Development Block Grant funds under Sections
570.201(e) and 570.206(c) of the CDBG regulations; and
WHEREAS, the City has programmed $35,000 in Eleventh Year
Community Development Block Grant Entitlement funds for the
purpose of providing housing counseling to the residents of
Alameda;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
and the City Clerk to attest for and on behalf of the City of
Alameda a Grant Agreement with Alamedans with HOPE to provide
housing counseling services for the City of Alameda for fiscal
year 1985 -86.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 16th of July, 1985,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna and President Diament - 3.
NOES: Councilmembers Lucas and Monsef - 2.
ABSENT: None.
