AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE AND EXECUTION OF THE FEDERAL
GOVERNMENT'S AWARD OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE
HOVERMARINE DEMONSTRATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the application of the City of Alameda for a
cooperative agreement under Section 6 of the Urban Mass
Transportation Act of 1964, as amended, to provide funding for
the City to test and demonstrate and report on a high speed ferry
surface effect ship, has been approved in the amount of $105,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the City, as recipient of the Federal Grant from
UMTA to test and demonstrate a high speed ferry, does hereby
authorize the City Manager to accept this Grant and authorizes
execution of the necessary Agreements relating to this
acceptance.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 6th of August, 1985,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
