CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 10701
APPROVING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT TO ESTABLISH THE
NIMDOTS AGENCY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CITIES OF
OAKLAND, SAN LEANDRO, HAYWARD, COUNTY OF ALAMEDA
AND PORT OF OAKLAND, AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
THEREOF
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has participated in a
Transportation Study Group with the cities of Oakland, San
Leandro, Hayward, County of Alameda and Port of Oakland, to study
traffic problems caused by the growth of the Oakland Airport and
other major development projects in the vicinity of the Nimitz
Freeway-Doolittle Drive transportation corridor ("NIMDOTS"); and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that a Joint Exercise of
Powers Agreement is now necessary to enable contracting as an
independent entity with a traffic consultant to identify and
assess existing and future transportation systems in the NIMDOTS
Corridor, define, assess and evaluate transportation
alternatives, and recommend a preferred alternative for the
central area of the NIMDOTS Corridor; and
WHEREAS, a proposed Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement by
and among Port of Oakland, City of Oakland, City of Alameda, City
of San Leandro, City of Hayward and County of Alameda has been
presented to this Council, and the Council is fully informed and
aware of the terms and conditions thereof; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of $1,000 to NIMDOTS is
required at this time to help offset costs of operation; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of
Alameda that said Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement be entered
into;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement for the
NIMDOTS organization is hereby approved and the Mayor of the City
of Alameda is hereby authorized and directed to execute said
agreement for and on behalf of the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $1,000 is hereby
authorized to be paid to NIMDOTS for operational costs, to be
appropriated from the Tidelands Trust Fund.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 6th of August, 1985,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
