AWARDING CONTRACT TO 0. C. JONES AND SONS FOR
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 84-3, MARINA VILLAGE PARKWAY,
"CHALLENGER DRIVE" AND ATLANTIC AVENUE, PROJECT
NO. 3, AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION THEREOF
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda heretofore
published notice calling for bids for Assessment District 84-3,
Marina Village Parkway, "Challenger Drive" (proposed name), and
Atlantic Avenue, Project No 3, in accordance with
Specifications No. P.W. 9-85-31 approved September 17, 1985;
and
WHEREAS, in response to said notice a sealed bid was
submitted by O. C. Jones and Sons agreeing to perform said work
in accordance with said Specifications for the sum of
$983,339.00; and
WHEREAS, said firm is a responsible bidder and its
proposal is the lowest and best bid received,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the bid of O. C. Jones and Sons is hereby
accepted, the contract for Assessment District 84-3, Marina
Village Parkway, "Challenger Drive" and Atlantic Avenue, Project
3, is hereby awarded to said bidder, and the Mayor is hereby
authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, said
contract on behalf of the City of Alameda; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the awarding of this contract
\ shall be subject to approval of the sale of bonds, (Second Set)
--, Marina Village Assessment District 84-3.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 15th of October, 1985,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Counci.lmembers, Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
