AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT
FOR THE GOLF COURSE DIVISION OF THE RECREATION
AND PARKS DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, funds are available in the 1985-86 Equipment
Replacement budget for the acquisition of various maintenance
class items for the Golf Course Division of the Recreation and
Parks Department; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that purchase on the open
market of a Toro Groundmaster-72 Mower with an efficient diesel
GM322-D engine, the class of mower best suited for intended use,
would result in considerable savings to the City; and
WHEREAS, said mower is available through a single source
in Northern California, the West Star Distributing Company
of Hayward, which has submitted a price of $11,129.50 all
inclusive for a Toro Groundmaster 72, Model 30718 with 72 inch
cutter deck with diesel engine;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter the
Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to act as the
representative of the City in the purchase of said Groundmaster
Mower for the Golf Course.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 15th of October, 1985,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
