AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS AND OPEN
MARKET PURCHASE OF A PICK -UP TRUCK FOR SEWER
MAINTENANCE USE
WHEREAS, the new position of Sewer Maintenance Supervisor
requires a reliable vehicle for use in overseeing maintenance
and repair of the City's sewer system and pump lift stations,
and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that a lightweight
pick -up truck can be purchased at a lower price on the open
market and such vehicles are available for immediate delivery;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3 -15 of the City Charter the
Public Works Director, in cooperation with the City Purchasing
Agent, is hereby authorized to negotiate and purchase on the open
market, a vehicle for use by the Sewer Maintenance Supervisor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $7,200 is hereby
appropriated from the Sewer Services Fund to cover the cost of
said vehicle.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 21st of January, 1986,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: CoUncil0embers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
