AUTHORIZING NEGOTIATION OF AN OPEN MARKET AGREEMENT
FOR INSTALLATION OF COIN - OPERATED LIGHT CONTROLLERS
AT LEYDECKER PARK AND ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FROM THE
DWELLING UNIT TAX ACCOUNT TO PAY FOR SAID PROJECT
WHEREAS, in an effort to recover some of the costs
associated with maintenance and operation of tennis courts in the
City, the Recreation Commission has recommended as a pilot
project the installation of coin - operated light controllers at
the three tennis courts at Leydecker Park, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that open market
negotiation for said project would result in considerable savings
to the City; and
WHEREAS, the proposal of St. Francis Electric in the
amount of $9,535.00 was the lowest and best bid submitted to do
all work necessary for converting the existing lighting system as
proposed; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient monies in the Dwelling Unit
Tax Account to pay for said project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3 -15 of the City Charter the
Director of Recreation and Parks is hereby authorized to
negotiate an open market agreement with St. Francis Electric for
the installation of coin- operated light controllers at Leydecker
Park; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $9,535.00 is
}hereby appropriated from the Dwelling Unit Tax Account to fund
installation of the lighting system.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 4th of February, 1986,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
